Marcela Urrutia Zamora
Marcela Urrutia Zamora is Vice President for Federal Legislative Affairs at Verizon Communications where she advocates on telecommunications issues before the Congress. Prior to Verizon, Marcela worked for the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid as his Senior Policy Director for Hispanic Affairs where she oversaw the political and legislative landscape impacting the Latino community, including key issues such as immigrant benefits and immigration.
For 7 years, she also led the Health and Immigrant Benefits policy agenda at NCLR where she chaired the National Immigrant Benefits Coalition and she co-Chaired the Latino Health Coalition. In that capacity, she also spearheaded the Texas Legislative Office in Austin and lobbied before the state legislature. In addition, she served 5 years as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Howard Berman (CA) where she worked on various key domestic policy issues.< Back
