Ayuda Applauds the Obama Administration's Policy on Deferred Action for Young People

Ayuda applauds the Obama administration’s June 15 announcement of Deferred Action for Young People and looks forward to assisting the greater DC metropolitan area community in understanding which young immigrant may qualify for this benefit and assisting them in obtaining it.

Ayuda aplaude el anuncio del 15 de junio de la administración de Obama de “Acción Diferida para Jóvenes” y espera asistir a la comunidad del área metropolitana de Washington, DC en entender cuales inmigrantes jóvenes calificarán por este beneficio y ayudándoles en obtenerlo.

At this time, young immigrants who are not currently in removal proceedings should not apply for Deferred Action. The process by which to apply affirmatively will be announced by mid-August. In the meantime, Ayuda invites young immigrants interested in assessing their own legal eligibility for “Deferred Action” to call us at 202-387-4848 to schedule an appointment in either our Washington, DC or Sterling, VA office. Ayuda staff will meet privately with individuals to answer general and specific legal questions, and review a list of supporting documents that eligible young immigrants may begin collecting as they await further announcements on the “Deferred Action” process.

En este momento, inmigrantes jóvenes que no están en el proceso de deportación no deben solicitar “Acción Diferida.” El proceso por lo cual se puede solicitar afirmativamente estará anunciado en mediados de agosto.  Por el momento, Ayuda invitará a los inmigrantes jóvenes interesados en asesorar su elegibilidad para “Acción Diferida” llamarnos en 202-387-4848 para programar una cita en cualquiera de nuestras oficinas en Washington, DC o en Sterling, VA. El personal de Ayuda reunirá en privado con individuos para contestar preguntas legales generales y especificas, y para revisar un listado de documentos de apoyo que inmigrantes jóvenes elegibles pueden empezar juntando mientras esperen más anuncios del proceso de “Acción Diferida.”
